sigh

I never ever grow tired of seeing him in these hats. The boy is hot..

That's David Beckham, just in case you live under a rock:P

passing along my greenness

My daughter came to me over the weekend with an article about bottle water company's being fined for their water being about as pure as tap water. She actually asked me if we can get stainless steel water bottles, since we both take a water bottle to school and work every day. This would also help cut back on the amount of plastic we use. Can I tell you how proud of her I was at that moment? She actually listens to me?? How cool are these Klean Kanteens? I ordered mine on Amazon.

*Next step, to get rid of all my plastic food storage containers for glass containers.

SIGN ME UP!

Sephora University! I would gladly be a student there anytime! Why can it they open one in Philly? hmm my brother lives in San Fran and I do owe him a visit! I'm always the thinker.

Let's talk hair..

While going to Salon Vanity (highly recommend Stylist Alyson) in Philly, they turned me on to a product that I absolutely love... MorrocanOil oil treatment. Can I just tell you how much I loved how my hair felt after they used this product on me? So much so I forked out the salon price for it! My hair was always the MOST healthy it has every been after I left there. Now that I don't go to that salon anymore, I thought I would be screwed when I ran out. I figured it was only sold in salons. Well not so, I saw it on Amazon last week! Yeah! I am running low and dreading the "finding another product for my dry hair" search.
The product boost that it is an ultra light, non-greasy formula that seals in shine producing silky perfection for all hair types. It's been used by women in Morocco to treat hair and nails in order to counteract the effects of the hot climate and aging. The ingredient Argan oil naturally renews cell structure and always consistently restores shines to dull lifeless hair. blah blah, whatever.. It works!!

Have a great weekend

Ahhh Friday! Another crazy busy, but fun filled weekend! Starting with High School Musical 3 tonight ~ Just me and mini me. Should be fun. Tomorrow is shopping, shopping shopping! Gotta love that. Phillies play tomorrow, then the Eagles and Phillies both on Sunday. Please let this be a Philly Fan Fanatic (say that 3 times fast) weekend!!!

oh, here is the winning pumpkin templates

my fave: Secret Camouflage!

When I find a product that I love, I just have to pass it along. Thank god for my blog cause I would feel pretty stupid just emailing and calling friends to tell them about a concealer! But I love this product so much that I WOULD do it!
Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage rocks. This product combines 2 tones in it's palette and can is used to camouflage (get it?) your imperfections. The area under your eye is not just 1 color, so why apply just 1 to hide your circles?

Here is what Sephora says about the product:

Secret Camouflage Completely camouflage dark circles, minor imperfections, and discolorations with this unique two-shade system: one to match the skin's depth of color and one to match the skins undertone. This must-have makes it possible for every woman to custom-blend her own perfect shade.

It's gonna be Chili this weekend.

That was the request from the family for slow cooker Sunday... Chili! The weather will be perfect for it too.
I think I'm going with this great recipe on bettycrocker.com. Corn bread muffins will go great with this also!

Pimping out my pumpkins

This past Saturday we went pumpkin picking and found (of course) the 2 most perfect pumpkins to carve. Now to find a template to use to carve my perfect pumpkins. If I do say so myself, I carve a mean pumpkin.
I found a few on Marthastewart.com that I really love. Decisions, decisions.

Kick ass site: well for Obama supporters

Design/ers for Obama has made available to you, free downloadable GREAT graphic campaign posters. Choose the poster you want, decide if you'd prefer it as a 8.5-x-11-inch image, a 17-x-22-inch image on four sheets, or a 26-x-33-inch image on nine sheets, then click "print." Here are some of my favorite designs:

This one is my background on my work and home pc.

Going green on wines

This weekend the hubby surprised me with a bottle of wine. Bonterra Vineyards 2004 Syrah. I guess he figures since I am trying to go more green, so why not my wine? This was the 1st wine that I have tried made from organically grown grape and I gotta say, I like it... I like it a lot. It's definitely a keeper.
Here is what the Vineyard says the wines "notes" are:
"Brilliant crimson color and intense, heady aromas of black cherry and wild mountain blackberries before giving way to bitter-sweet, vanilla chocolate. The tannins are velvety smooth and supple"

I highly recommend.

umm.. where have I seen this before?

Williams - Sonoma now have a pancake puff pan.. oh my bad, theirs is actually the "Ebelskiver Filled-Pancake Pan". Seems the same to me, but with a heftier price tag. Being the label whore that I am, I'm thinking I would rather have this one. Quality and all that :P

30% off The limited - TODAY only!

ssslooooow cooker weekend

I was debating whether I wanted to cook on Sunday, since we will be out of the house for more than half the day. I'm pretty sure we will be home early enough on Sunday to enjoy dinner. Plus the thought of coming home to an already cooked meal gets me excited - in a nonsexual way. I'm not a perv people. So I decided to do Creole Black Beans 'n' Sausage.

UPDATE: it was another hit!!!

ring ideas

I really want a silver O ring for my middle finger. I found a few that I really like.. 1 is just wishful thinking. I love the Tiffany's one the best.

click on rings for links to designers sites.

Philadelphia Blue Day - Support your City

For those of you living in Philly, or the Philly area, you know that in the past year there have been 4 officers killed in the line of duty. 4! It's just ridiculous. Jennifer and David Fox of Brave Spirits, came up with this brilliant idea, Philadelphia Blue Day. It's pretty simple actually, on October 28, just make a purchase (or have a meal) at any of the participating sponsors and 10% of that purchase will be donated to the Survivor's Fund. So now you have a great reason to go into the city and have a great meal. I am sure with WMMR (best radio station EVER)backing this, the list of places to eat will grow. So support your men and women in blue, it all goes to a great cause.

The Phillies did it!

Congrats to the Philadelphia Phillies winning the Pennant!
World Series here we come!!!!!!!!!!

Huh?

Is it me, or does Christina look like a tranny?

thought I would share

Kashi Original 7 grain crackers

Hands down the best crackers EVER - healthy too. BONUS!
ok back to work..

oh yum - you have to try

Here is the dish I made last night... Cinnamon -Spiced Moroccan Chicken (marthastewart.com).
Once I get a better cell phone, I will take pics of my actual dish. Any way, I highly recommend trying this healthy (yeas healthy) dish. I'll admit that I was kind of nervous putting all these spices into one dish, but man was I wrong to be nervous. It was delicious. Very flavorful. It's definitely a keeper.

Fabric Junkie

I have a "thing" where I love to change the fabric on my dining room chairs. The hubby LOVES it, since it's he who takes them off the chairs and then puts them back on (and he does a great job too). It seems fitting with the Fall/Winter months coming up, I change them yet again..

Currently I have this my chairs (so Spring/Summer):

and I am thinking one of these for the new look ..all from sewmamasew.com

What's your Fall Decorating Style?

Take marthastewart.com quiz and find out...

I am (and its so true) :

You are undoubtedly Warm and Cozy.
Your fall decorating style is warm and cozy. As the air gets chillier, your home becomes more welcoming, thanks to the warm shades you have chosen.

I'm ticked pink

The makers of PedEgg (which I LOVE) have created a limited edition Pink PedEgg to raise $50,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For those of you who live on another planet and have never seen the infomercials OR seen them in Target (where I picked up mine), the PedEgg is shaped to fit in the palm of your hand, and removes rough, dead skin from your feet. I use mine after every shower. Looks like I have to go get the Pink PedEgg to support the cause, AND how cute are they?

The perfect clog

My Steve madden clogs from 2 years ago are finally beat the hell up. I'm not ashamed to say I teared up a little when I threw put in the trash (not even worthy for Goodwill). Now the search for a new clog is under way. I REALLY do want the UGGs, but I just cant see putting out that kind of money. I found a few others that I love almost as much.

hmmm .. decisions.

perfect side dish

The hubby picked up steaks to grill tonight for dinner (it's freakin 80 today) and I told him not to worry about side dishes, I would handle it. This is the perfect side dish with steak! Parmesan-Coated Sweet Potato Fries. Luckily, I have all ingredients on hand. Yum. Can't wait!
UPDATE: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! They were delish!! I highly recommend.

Halloween craft idea

I saw this on Marthastewart.com, so cute and actually looks easy to make. Right up my alley! I might have to try it!

Adler's Orange it Lovely

I just love Jonathan Adler's designs. He gives advice and actually practices what he preaches. Metropolitan Home did a spread on Jonathan and his partner Simon Doonan (creative director @ Barneys) funky Palm Beach beachfront condo retreat. Jonathan is always telling people to use orange, don't be afraid of orange. Notice all the splashes of orange all over the condo? It makes me happy!
