the over hyped kitchen redo..

Well here it is.. my kitchen. Don't you remember that I actually had a mini kitchen makeover?
Yeah I figured..
I decided that I am completely doing these makeover all wrongs. Instead of saying I am going to do, I am going to try showing you once it's all ready done. Which is why I am not going to even mention a word on the laundry room makeover. Oops. My bad.
I won't bore you with a whole lot of befores and afters.. along with all the details on what we did with this space, well because honestly .. I'm over it.
I will mention that I am still trying to find that perfect runner. .. yes still.
Here is the 1st of the befores. Notice the Christmas decor? It was that long ago people.
Cabinets that were painted but never polyed - old green paint that I was so tired of - Gross peel and stick floors.
Gross floors

The hubby redid the whole wall around the sliding glass doors.
Here are the primed walls.. if you look close enough and you will see a touch of the old green paint.

And now for a few afters
Pretty new black porcelain tiles. I still {heart} these floors.
new wall color and a repainted pantry door (just for sprucing up sake)

Polyed cabinets and added accents

New art work for the walls (Cupcakes by my oldest daughter) Frames from Ikea

We can't forget those added Orange accents

A few more added touches to the cabinets. Notice the antiquing? All me.. Thank you very much.
love this hidden drawer

New dark wood blinds on the window

New decorative touches like a salt bowl (Anthropology) spoon holder (Home Goods) oh and a sidenote: we did the counters ourselves.

And Now for my favorite touch to this room - the "legs" that we added to the cabinets (Lowe's). I swear they still make me happy when I see them. Just that little added feature totally changed how those cabinets look.. don't yah think?

Befores
a few more of my favorite afters... We added the black kick plate (MDF) and a thin piece of black quarter round. I wanted it all to disappear behind those sexy decorative legs.
and of course a little more antiquing

Aren't they pretty?
Gorgeous molding all around. Hubby did a fantastic job on this space. Now I know it's not a major renovation or even that large of a space.. but I can proudly say we did every inch of this space over ourselves.. You gotta love that or at least like it :)

  11. Okay, this looks AMAZING! The antiqued cabinets with the little feet, and the black porcelin tile ? LOVE! And let me tell you that is took THREE years from beginning to end to complete our kitchen. We started with the most tedious part (painting the cabinets)and that wore us out! So glad it is finished, and glad yours is, too:)!
