While I was taking a Pottery Barn decorating class a few weeks ago, I picked up a PB hurricane candle holder with intentions of filling it with faux acorns (just like PB), but Pottery Barn sold their faux acorns for $14 a bag. Um no thank you. I'll try and find them cheaper.
and I did. Walmart had them for $3 a bag. Yep, just $3. The bags are smaller than PB's but 2 bags make up the difference and all for still just for $6. Yes - thank you very much!
My Hurricane candle holder with those $3 acorns.

What a thrifty find! They look great.
Love your acorns in the hurricane! I have a little cloche I filled with acorns this year too- real ones gathered from the yard - Love how it looks! Your acorns look great in the jar, Walmart gets some good deals sometimes and who would think they would have the same thing as PB? Great score! :)
I am going to WALMART....again:) I didn't see these and have been looking for them too. I didn't want to spwnd the $14.00 at PB either!!!!! Thanks!
awhh thanks for sharing this...I have wanted some but down in my area we just have those little ones and I wanted the bigs ones like this. Will have to check my Walmart out...thanks for sharing!
Walmart rocks! Your Fall vignette looks very pretty!
They look great! Acorns are always a good choice. I've been trying to collect as many real ones as I can while they're easy to find. The price is right!
very cute! I love PB but their stuff is SO expensive.
I am going to go gather some real acorns from outside to fill some empty vases and stuff with. and if i cant find enough i'll have to check at walmart for some cute cheap ones! :)
Thanks so much for the info about those THRIFTY acorns...they look great! Hope you are having fun at my PAR-TAY!!!
Blessings,
Linda
Thanks for stopping by my blog creativesouthernhome.blogspot.com! I Love the acorns. Fall is my favorite time of year and I love the sounds of crunching acorns under my feet and I love the way they look decorating my home.
I am going to collect a bunch of the real ones. I saw the $3 ones at Walmart but I can't pass up free.
What is a Pottery Barn Decorating Class? Sounds right up my alley.

Great find!
I bought some from my local dollar store, Royal Bargains. The bags were smaller so I had to buy several bags, but surely not $14 worth of fake acorns! PB has neat stuff, but the prices are insane.

AARRRGGGHHH...I wish I read this 2 days ago. I just bought a friend that double cylinder and acorns at PB for a total of $35.00, plus a battery operated candle...another lesson learned, KEEP LOOKING!!
Hey, I am headed to Wal-Mart now to pick up some of those faux acorns for myself. Thanks for the tip;)
What a perfect fall centerpiece. Love it!
Hey there- I love the acorns and the deal you got finding them at WM is fantastic!! I also wanted to say that I came by a couple of times to comment on your Hallway re-do and I am not finding a Comment section showing up...I don't know if it's just not loading right or for some reason it's not there...but I love the hallway redo too-the pictures of your girls are beautiful and the new light & refreshment nook- perfect! GREAT JOB!! Thanks so much for sharing these projects at Feathered Nest Friday!! :)
I did it the free way and just picked them up on a nature walk!
You still got a great deal!

Great job. Awesome acorns and an awesome buy. I'd love to gather the real ones, but none of them seem to have their tops!

Good Save! If you every played volleyball you'll know what I mean.
Sweet deal!
I have three tall PartyLite candle jars. I change them out to compliment the seasons (righ now, shells). Around this time last year, while making Fall plans, I bought REAL acorns. Very expensive. This year, I thought I'd try the faux, so I went to the craft stores thinking it was a no-brainer. They didn't have them, so next I went online and found some, including those at PB, which, I agree, are too pricey. LOVE that Walmart has them. Heading to the one in Marlton tonight! THANKS!
Another SJ girl...
PS, in October, I use candy corn!
