2 Peas in Pod Baby Shower

A few weeks ago I attended a baby shower for my soon to arrive nephews - yes nephewsss. Twins boys! The boys arrived after the shower, but still 7 weeks early! Welcome to the world Tano (III) and Amari!
For the shower, I was asked if I could help out and of course, I said yes and volunteered to do the decorations. The shower's theme was 2 Peas in a Pod. All together now - Awww! I offered to bring balloons, make the centerpieces, make a clothesline (of course forgot to take a picture) and decorate the cake. My mind was brimming with ideas and luckily the sweet Best Friend of the mommy (and the one in charge) let me do whatever I wanted. Sweet.  For the centerpieces I decided to do diaper bundles. I have no idea if that is even the right name for what I created, but it worked for me. Feel free to correct me with an actual name.
These are diapers wrapped in receiving blankets. Really simple but quite adorable.

Here is what you will need.
Receiving blankets. I used greens since it is a Peas in a Pod theme. (Walmart)
Swaddlers. I used Target brand because I loved the dots on them.
Green ribbon for the ends.
Lots and lots of rubber bands. I also used large rubber bands to hold the bundle of diapers together.
Scrap book stickers to decorate
We also used gift boxes cut out in ovals to give the base some support
And a helper - Thanks mom. It helped so much to have another pair of hands to hold the bundles together and for tying the ribbons.
I completely flaked on a picture of all the supplies, but here is a picture of the centerpieces in mid completion.
And here is one on Cake Table. Each bundle had a different sayings on them. Seriously too stinking cute!
And here is the cake. Unfortunately these are the only pictures I took of the cake. It's a simple white and chocolate cake from the bakery. When ordering the cake I asked them to write this saying on it "Twice the Fun, Twice the Joy, Welcome Carolyn's Baby Boys". I also asked that no flowers be used but green "peas" along the sides (you can barely make them out in the pics). I then made and added the clothesline. I really loved this idea and was thrilled at how adorable it turned out.
For the clothesline I used 2 skewers, twine and scrap book stickers that were already a clothesline. How lucky was that find (Michael's)? I hot glued the twine to wrap around the skewers and then hot glued the little clothes to the twine. They even had clothespins already on them.
The more I blog about stuff outside my home, the more I realized that I have to start carrying my camera around with me and not use my iPhone! There are some really gorgeous blogs out there that take the most amazing pictures, and this ain't one of them!
I try though. I really do.. Maybe that will be my New Years Resolution. Learn to take better pictures!
oh and I have to give a shout to the Etsy Shop Beauzness. This is the gorgeous necklace that I picked up for the new Mommy. Stunning
