DIY Doily Lamp

At some point over the summer, youngest darling daughter will be getting a room makeover since A.) she deserves it. B.) I promised if she got a great report card (and she did) and C.) she hasn't had a makeover since she moved into her white walled bedroom 3 years ago.
I thought I would share an idea we had for lighting in her room because well, its too cute not to share! Oldest darling daughter actually found this idea for her.

We know we want to do a big fixture in her room since she wants a loft... Yes a loft. Initially we were looking at Ikea's large lighting fixtures, but this idea is just too cute and original not to try.
And I am pretty confident that Goodwill will have doily's up the wazoo.

I am a huge fan of vintage doilies and have used them in fresh ways in decorating my home. I've seen this idea and love it, so can't wait to see how yours turns out...maybe I'll even give it a try myself!!!
