Just a lil Hallway Makeover

A few weeks ago I gave you a sneak peek into my hallway redo project. Now I realize that a hallway is not all that exciting, it was to me because another project was checked off our long long list. The old hallway was dated and dark and didn't go with the light and airy feel I am going for in my home. At one time there was an actual door there, but down that came along with the doorway trim. Once it was down, it instantly went from looking like an entryway and not a doorway. This was a simple redo, and by simple I mean I sat on the floor and took pictures while hubby did most of the labor. I love these kinds of projects! It involved taking down the old door frame, painting the ceiling, walls and trim. We also added a new light fixture, ceiling medallion and I did a project where I spray painted old frames and added Black and White pictures of my girls.
Here are a few pictures of the hallway while being demoed. Notice the old color of chocolate brown on the walls and the fluorescent lighting? Yep dark and dated. Sorry for the dark picture - these 2 were taken with my iPhone.
The "refreshments" nook. I love this space
And here is the new color on the wall (Behr's Ancient Scroll) and the new lighting fixture before the we added the handmade ceiling medallion.
My sparkling new entry way with new trim and the frames up on the walls.
The "refreshments" nook after. I love it even more!
Here is a close up of the pictures on the wall. I just love these pictures. I sprayed the frames a glossy white for a uniformed look on the walls, along with the plate covers. Now while I don't have that "it's finally finished" feeling with the hallway (I need to add a few more elements) but for now I am very happy with the feeling that "it's getting there".

Looks great! I love it when people place a bunch of frames in a group like this. Great way to add some character to the hallway!!! I need to get a bunchof frames together and try this out! Thanks for sharing.
