The cabinets are now painted, slightly antiqued and polyurethaned. Has anyone ever used polyurethane? Talk about contact high. Oh.my.gosh. Let's just say I was in a very happy mood while doing those cabinets :-)
Do you remember that list of things that we still had to do for the kitchen? Well we crossed off 4 more things off that to-do list! Now that's progress baby... at least in this house it is!
Things we still need to do:
-
-
-Add new kick plates for under the cabinets
-Add decorative legs for the under cabinets.
-Make a new kitchen island. We have the granite counter top but we need more cabinet space so I am looking for a buffet or old cabinets to make into island. This is more of a wish then a to-do.
-
-Replace hinges for the cabinets to hidden hinges.
-
Now on to the sneak peeks. Here is a peek at the new color on the walls (before we added the molding and before the cabinets were repainted).
Carolina Inn Aqua Club might be a mouth full, but it sure is purrty.
And now on to the floors .. those gorgeous black slate tiles. Yes I know that you can see every light colored speck of dirt on these floors, but I think they are so worth it. I sweep A.lot.
before (oh so gross)....
a peek at "after" (oh so lovely)
Do you think me crazy if I said I can see my "vision" coming together now, even though we started this 2 months ago AND still have lots to do? There are a few minor things that need to get done with the trim but that's hubby's problem, all I am thinking about are runners, clocks, art work, shades, towels, baskets and teapots!
I'm linking this sneak peek up on this link parties: Just something I whipped up Monday, Making the world cuter Monday, Market yourself Monday
