Stencil me in ~ Loving this idea

Like any homeowner in the world there are things I love about my home and then there are things that just drive me nuts. I live in a tri-level home so this is one of the 1st things you see when you enter my home.

Boring and plain. Not much on the drama meter.. definitely a neglected part of my home. I really don't think that there isn't much that can be done with the stairwell (but if you have ideas I will gladly take them), but the stairs can for sure be spruced up. The previous owner painted the back of the wood stairs white. It's not the best idea to paint the stairs since they always look scuffed. It drives me crazy.
Then I saw these inspirational ideas and it was love. True "oh inspire me" love. Stenciling the back of your steps!  It's chic, different and definitely a lot of drama. All the things I love. The more I started to look into this idea, the more I am inspired to do this project. Looks like I'll need to go stencil shopping.

Aren't these steps just gorgeous? Love.. You had me at stencil!
Bye bye Boring!

Love all of them. If you have a Cricut or know of someone who has one, you can design and make your own stencils.

Go for it! It will change the way you feel about your home. I stenciled my entry hall walls.

Thanks for stopping by at my blog.

Those ideas are really great, I look forward to see what you make of it. I think there are a lot of ideas for a stair like that - I have seen several pictures with different colors, writings or other things.

I am now following your blog so I look forward to see the result. ;-)

Go for it! Can't think of a better way to make an impact on those steps and it is just enough since there are only a few stairs. I have been intrigued myself with this idea and saving images on Pinterest.

Oh yes, and wow! We have the exact same steps going into our house and they drive me nutso. And you just used the line "you had me at" like I did in my previous comment. We will be blogging friends for sure:) I love the yellow stenciled stairs!

Those are really cool! Too bad I don't have the patience to do that! It would be really neat!

Lovely post, you have shown some great examples of stenciled stairs. It does not require patience to stencil because the sense of acheivement seems to carry you along. Once the job is finished it can be admired for years. I have recently posted stenciled furniture facelifts. Floors are coming soon, I will link to yours.
