lust....

My heart just fluttered a little .. I am seriously in love with this cabinet.
How perfect would this be for my shoes?
spotted here

oooh nice rack

If you take a peek into my closet you would see my shoes stacked at least 4 boxes high and maybe there are 4 rows across. Hardly Glamorous (but it is colored coded). Also have a few baskets filled with purses, but this about the shoes. I also have of these on the back of my closet door. Anyway, I hate it... All of it. It's just so blah and gross. Blah and gross I ain't! So now I have an idea, one brought on by these gorgeous displays for shoes on {this is glamorous}. Stunning
Now I'm on the hunt for a glass front cabinet.

I <3 Havaianas - I really do!

We're smack in the middle of flip-flops season. Have you had your fill of all the colorful flip-flops that are out there this summer? If not, have I got a flip-flop for you! By now, I am sure you have heard of Havaianas. If not, come out from under that rock and try them! Seriously, they live up to the hype. Born in 1962, Havaianas boosts that their flip-flops are made from secret super soft rubber that really does feel different from any other flip-flop on the market. And they last longer (not like the Old Navy ones that fall apart after one summer). Seriously, once you try them, you will never want to buy any other flip-flop again. Here are the ones I own. I have my eye on a few more!

Citrus orange & Slim Peacock brown.

blessings

Today is the teenager daughter's 17th birthday. I am still amazed how times has gone by in the blink of my eye. My baby is turning into what I always knew she would be .. smart, funny, thoughtful, creative, opinionated ... just completely beautiful - inside and out. She truly is a blessing. I look at her growing into a woman, but still I see her as forever my little girl.

Yet ANOTHER reason

While at Comic -con, Johnny Depp was spotted wearing two beaded heart bracelets. Bracelets made from his daughter, Lily Rose. Don't they go great with the leather straps he also wears?
Yup, another reason why I love this man.

Eva launches Vida

Eva Mendes launched her new Vida line at Macy's exclusively.
"Vida is about easy luxury - the colors, fabrics and textures that I live and love, brought to life in a stylish, comfortable and affordable way.”
Cute stuff.. love how she matches the bedding ;)
Check out the home decor line here

Orange it more lovely..

Lately I have a hankering to add more orange in my living room & dining room area. Yes I said more orange. You would think with my love of the color orange, my house would have a ton of it in it. Nope, not the case. It's true that I do have pillows, candles, a throw, table runners etc, but nothing overwhelming. I would like more. So I started to look for unique ideas to add my favorite color. While on my search, I started seeing a lot of designers are using orange and turquoise together for decor. Well I gotta tell yah, I love it! It's so fresh and cool. Definitely out of the box. Just look at these pillows (with the pale blue walls) that designer Michelle Morgan Harrison used. She is so talented.
There is nothing "Howard Johnson" about any of these designs.

Relaxation + Weekend Plans

This weekend I wish I was alone here:

But since that's not gonna happen, I'll settle for a beach house filled with 4 kids, 6 adults and 1 adorable dog.
Ahh weekends at the shore with family, you gotta love it. Tomorrow evening after the kids are all in bed, I hope to open a bottle of wine and chat it up with my favorite in-law's (seriously they rock).

What are you up to?

Now THAT's a Wedding Entrance!

How cute is this!!!!

Alice in Wonderland trailer

Yup that's my man!
Check it the trailer on I'm Not Obsessed.. Can't wait to see this movie!!

Zucchini up the wazoo

Ok not literally, but if you saw the size of these things.... ok not going there (I'm seriously joking) but I do have to come up with healthy and delicious meals for these ginormous zucchinis. Thankfully blogland has a bunch of creative people and they have great recipes for zucchinis. oh side note: Last night I whipped up the BEST side dish. I grilled zucchinis and red onions. Chopped them up and added home grown tomatoes (FIL's home) and crumbled feta. A splash of rice vinegar and EVOO, a bit of sea salt and pepper and OMG delish and seriously easy! Wish I took a picture of it. It was THAT good.

Of course I will make them as WW friendly as I can. Can you guess what we are having for dinner tonight?? :)

Welcome!

When I get something in my head, I just don't stop til I get it done. Some call it anal, I call it motivated! Here is my next obsession... the word "Welcome" on my front door. I'm obsessing over it because I have a decision to make. I have a dark red door (like these) so what color lettering? White or black? And what font should I use? Who knew there were so many choices?? Ack! Another reason to love Etsy!!

Fave fall color - Purple

What's your favorite fall color? I think mine might be purple. After looking at all the shoes and purses at the Nordstrom's Anniversary sale (my now fave sale ever) I decided that I am loving all the purple that is coming out for the fall. Like these GORGEOUS shoes..all at Nordstrom's.

Romper room styles

Love 'em or hate 'em, they are (as you may already know) all the rage this summer. While some women are diving into this romper craze, I was not sold on it, that is until I saw them paired with a sexy strappy sandal. Then I started seeing them as stylish and sophisticated, now that's totally different! I started to think hmm maybe I could pull this off this look? The final push was a comment from the hubby saying "you would never wear one of those". That was all I needed.. I just had to have one. Off to The Limited I went. After a thumbs up from the hubby, I picked up this romper. Now let's hope I actually wear it. I am planning on wearing it while at the shore this weekend, high hopes of us going out for drinks. However, be warned, you will look like an idiot if you do not keep it tailored and sophisticated (unless you are 8 and under?). Your romper choice should have some sort of waist gathering or you will run the risk of looking really large in the middle. Don't go for the onesie look (leave those for the kids), but instead chose a romper that looks like two separate pieces. Those are my favorites! Another warning, romper tend to be short, so if your legs are not in best shape, you may want to skip this trend or find a longer legged romper. Exactly what I did since, well I hate shorts.

The joys of summer

I despise the humidity in the summer. I mean hate it. Every year I remember how much I dread the heat, but you know what I am starting to remember what I LOVE about the summer? The fresh produce. For some reason with this "getting healthy" thing, I have even more of an appreciation for it. Many of my days are started with a bowl of fresh fruit, hell I end most days with it too. It seems silly but you realize that food just grows better in the summer. Genius, right? Blueberries are my absolute fave. I just love them in yogurts, cereals and just by the handful. They are always in the my fridge during the summer months. While on vacation we went through 5 pints! Ugh, it was mostly by me (see yesterday's note about healthy foods in moderation). They make me wish I could bake, but then again I don't like my fruits warm, so it would be a waste. Food issues, I know.

I'm looking forward to picking up more plums, peaches and mangoes this week. And watermelon? Forgetaboutit! I could go on and on about tomatoes, zucchinis and fresh basil. Yum. All are all better in the summer. Soon my father in-law (the original Mr. Greenjeans) will be giving me tons of veggies from his garden (I'm on overload with the zucchini already), so that means new recipes to try out. I guess I shouldn't dread the summer as much, but I do, just now it's JUST the humidity that I hate.

Spotted and hearted!

I use a lunch box for work.. everyday. Yup and so does the hubby. We're cool like that. What you haven't heard how "in" it is to brown bag it? Although hubby wouldn't like this bag (he has a cool Thundercats box - I kid!) I SURE would love it! How Cool (ok last time for that word) is this Chef Mario Batali's Marguerite Satchel lunch bag?! This beauty will keep your food kool (ha) and the planet a little greener. Oh and it's ORANGE (perisimmon, whatev)!

NARS Fall 2009 Makeup Collection

Fall is my favorite favorite FAVORITE time of year, especially when I see an amazing fall makeup collection that simply inspires! Check out NARS Fall 2009 Collection. It's everything you would want in a Fall collection. Rich, bold, shimmery and seductive. Sexy and elegant rolled into one fabulous collection. And THAT is exactly why NARS is and forever will be, my favorite makeup line. He never disappoints!
Loving the lipstick in Fast Ride.

I'm baaaack

That's right bitches! Miss me?
Vacation was wonderful. Seriously great. Now back to work and losing some more weight. I'm on a serious mission.. so stay tuned. While on vacation, I didn’t deprive myself of anything. I really didn't want the fattening foods. I was smart enough to bring a lot of my secret foods. My "diet" foods if you will. So basically, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and now I’m feeling a little… blah. Not because I feel bad or disappointed in myself but I swear my body is in shock over the amount that I ate. Healthy foods have portion sizes too! Duh. Now I'm left with feeling bloated and stuffed. Funny… I used to feel bloated and stuffed all the time. I’m not sure why it took me so long to figure out how much better I feel when I eat healthier. It’s so natural now. Nothing worse than feeling large in the belly.
One week off track is nothing. I'm not worried, just have to be a little more focus.
Maybe this will help me stay focused -Arctic Zero Ice cream -ALL their ice creams have less than 150 calories PER PINT people!!! You can only buy them on Amazon right now.. Seems a little high priced for me. I'll just wait til they get in stores near me!

Stylish Vodka

Oh this vodka would look so pretty sitting on my bar...

if I can do it, so can you!

So awhile ago I decided not to buy water bottles anymore. I knew I would have to figure something out for the girls and I to use, since we are all water drinkers. I found my answer at a local HomeGoods. Now we use WaterWeek reusable water bottles. I love them! Aren't they adorable? What I love the most is the material of these reusable plastic bottles. They are made from a material called SAN and are BPA free so you have no leaching of the material into the liquid, which is what makes them reusable, over and over again. A few things I have learned, A. you can not use the same plastic water bottle over and over again (too much bacteria buildup, as well a toxins from BPA leaching ICK!) and B. the least amount of plastic used, the better off we are. Google pictures of landfills that are FILLED with water bottles Do you really want to add to that? These bottles are dishwasher safe, and slim enough to slip over one of those spindle thingies in your dishwasher. I also love that they have a specially designed tray to keep them from being knock over in your fridge. Genius! Hey, it’s a step toward reducing the over 30 million bottles of water that are thrown out everyday. EVERY DAY People!

My latest obsession

Green polish.
I ordered the Sephora polish since there is no way I can wait until October.
