Off for another 3 day weekend!

ENJOY THE LAST WEEKEND OF SUMMER

perfect black dress

While I sitting the eye doctors last night, I was flipping through the new O Magazine and saw this stunning dress! I must say, with my built, it would be quite fetching on me. :P

Bryon Lars Beauty Mark, $295

my husband would kill me..

Yes I am jumping on the Frye boot bandwagon..
I want these..

America's hope

Did anyone watch Barack Obama's amazing speech last night?
In case you missed it, please watch it.
Even if you don't believe in Barack, you have to believe in The United States.

Barack's Speech "The American Promise"

hope..

so annoying.

A little over a month now I started growing in my thin brows, because,
A. I am over my thin brows, and b. Thicker brows are in for the fall.

Although the process is slower than I would want, I do see that I have lots of growth... mostly all in the wrong places, but still lots of growth. I check my brows almost every day, ok every day i check them, but I am going to stay strong and NOT pluck!

Thank god for my Anastasia ex-press kit. I can fake the hell out of my brows til I get them where I want to be... stayed tuned for updates..

Apparently I belong in London

I found this cute quiz (blog stalking) , and it seems I belong in London.

Hmmm, although I would like to go one day, its not on my "one day I will go to" list.

A little old fashioned, and a little modern.

A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock.

A unique soul like you needs a city that offers everything.

No wonder you and London will get along so well.

What city do you belong in?

and they called me anal..

This is sheer genius. A few months ago I decided to color coordinate my book shelves. A few people had said I was little anal for wanting my books shelves to look this organized (and of course, look pretty). Anal? Yes ok, I guess I am anal. I'll admit it. I love organization. It makes me feel safe and in control. My pride is my organized wardrobe, by color of course! I like to think of it as I have a love for colors and I can appreciate these colors even more when its organized! Previously, I had my books by authors, but I think I am developing a liking for books with pretty colorful spines. Hopefully a trend will start with authors publish more colorful covers for their books. Just so we can all achieve this look. How gorgeous is this look?
We are planning on making our "formal" living room (another name for never used) into a library. This pic will definitely be my inspiration!
So go ahead, organized by color! Go color coordinating crazy! I know I will. :P

my negelected bedroom..

My bedroom is dark and mismatched. Not at all the look I want. I use to think dark was better, it kept out the light and all that, but I don't like it anymore. I want light, modern and sophisticated. Time to make my bedroom over. Well, at least the sheets are clean.

I love the look of these bedrooms from Metropolitan Home (http://www.pointclickhome.com/)

I want them ..

I was just at BR on Saturday and did not see this hat! How cool is this fedora? I just love hats.

I put this boot in my piperlime shopping cart!

New Faces for Dancing with the Stars..

They released the 13 new contestants for Dancing with the Stars. It's exciting, yes I said exciting. I am addicted to the show and not ashamed to admit it. It started way back in Season 1 (yeah Kelly!). It was one of me and my daughters quality times. She has since ditched me but I stayed hooked! I have to admit I did not watch last season though, well because the contestants sucked! This season they seem pretty good. I love that they have Rocco DiSpirito. He is hot and the man can cook. Bonus! Lance Bass will entertaining to say the least. I also like Brooke Burke. The only draw back for me, is having to watch Kim Kardashian and Susan Lucci. They actually have Kim listed as "actress" on her Bio. Please, that's like saying the girls on The Hills are "actresses"! I'm calling Lance Bass as the winner.. ok ok I wont get ahead of myself!
The Season starts Monday, Sept 22nd @ 8pm (7 central).

WTH happened to her??

Pamela Anderson has the resources to keep herself looking youthful, why oh why didn't she use them? oh man!!

I honestly hope this is a bad pic, but something tells me it's not.

Sorry Fab, but your girl, looks well, bad.

Closer to going Green by getting rid of Yellow and White

Honestly how often do you actually use the Yellow or White pages? With today's environment issues and advancing technology , it seems like a step backwards. If you haven't done anything in your life to start living green (you should be ashamed if you haven't done at least 1 thing) this is the perfect way to start!

Yellowpagesgoesgreen

Pass it along!

the end to a perfect week..

Last night I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The scenes from Greece were breathtaking. I hope we will make it there for our 10th Anniversary!

Have a wonderful weekend!

more ink

I've been thinking of where to get my next tattoo. I know I want a F (for Fabulous Fab) I think its gonna be my on my hip. I actually can't wait.

crumbs..

Our toaster oven SUCKS.. seriously (sorry Andi if you're reading this) but it takes so long to toast bread. 10 minutes to toast 2 slices of bread? So I need a toaster (just toaster, I'm done with the oven part of it) . Fab, the girls, even the dog complains (well if he could chime in he would, he's like that!)
I like this one from Cuisinart .. sleek and just for toast.

A lil beefcake with your coffee?

What a nice way to start your day..

I can' wait til it starts on Sept 24th.

Healthy summer dessert recipe - Ridiculously Easy!

Ridiculously Easy Pineapple Sorbet - blog.fatfreevegan.com

Will Power

It's almost the end of the summer and still I have issues with ME. I know what woman doesn't? This is a blog to me. My issue is I have no will power. I say I do, I think I do, but I don't. If I did I would be where I want to be, on the path to who I want to be. I NEED Will Power. Why is it that you need a milestone to feel like you have to get yourself together? I turned 39 in June. Is that my milestone? If you say so? I need strength! Where is my Will Power? It's so easy to type the words but to stick with it? Whole nother story. Will Power Give me the strength. The strength to eat better foods, drink less alcohol (just a little), to work out (OK actual START to work out), to get more active, to figure out my triggers and avoid them, to care about my body and treat it with more respect! This is my temple, I KNOW that!
I am making a promise to myself right now, to be more thoughtful and to grow up a little and to not punish myself if I slip up, but to pick myself back up and continue where I left off. Yes yes I have made these promises before, and I waited for the "click" to happen (never came) I just really want to be a healthier version of me in 2009. I am turning 40! This has to be the time right? Will Power you have to stick with me!
Sincerely,
Frustrated :(

How many products do you use per day?

I saw an article online today on how many beauty products a woman uses on an average day. They said a women uses around 12 products and men use about six. Is that right? 12? At first 12 seemed to be to much. So I started to count up my daily products. And yup, 12 is about right. I actually use more. Since I like to mix it up a bit, I experiment with lots of eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes, etc., but my basic routine remains the same: wash with Cosmedicine's Healthy Cleanse Foaming Cleanser & Toner In One, then apply moisturizer, Philosophy's Hope in a jar (spf 20). I guess shampoo and conditioner are beauty products? OK so that's 4 so far. Moving on to makeup: Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation, Stila's Sun bronzer or Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzer, depending on how sassy I feel that day. Now, where was I? Right then we go to eyeshadows (too many to link) eyeliner (again if I feel the need) mascara (see past post) oh can't forget my Anastasia Brow Express brow. hmm, then there are lipglosses and lipsticks? That brings me to 11? I can't forget the body and hand lotions. Oh man I didn't even think of my nighttime ritual: Sephora brand eye makeup remover, reapply my moisturizer, my vitamin C serum and my Cosmedicine Eye Specialist eye cream. Now its up to 16? wait wait how could I forget my number 1 beauty product? Rosebud Salve. I love this product. OK so am I high maintenance or is it the number 12 just ridiculous? It's ridiculous right?

How many products do you use?

sigh.. Ryan and Rachael together again?

Rarely does a scene from TV stay etched in my brain, let alone a scene from the MTV Movie Awards?? But in 2005 Rachael McAdams and "OMG he is so Hot" Ryan Gosling won Best Kiss for The Notebook, and I remember it..vividly! Do you remember when she ran across the stage, jumped in his arms, he then grabbed her face and they kissed, I mean really kissed? I swear my mouth dropped open, not believing what I was witnessing! Oh the passion! Forever that image will be burned in my memory as the most romantic kiss on TV (only paling by comparison to the actual kiss in the movie). I was honestly upset to hear that they had broken up last year. Come on, how adorable are they together? Hopefully the rumors that they are back together are true! I so need to see more pics of him.

Just thought I would comment and share that scene..

sigh.. honey is so getting jumped on like that tonight. I'll warn him as I get my running start..

Joey, Donnie, and whats his name??

Aw 2 of my fave KIDS. Why so serious Donnie? Don't you know you resurrected your career and women are screaming for you again? Ok well maybe just a few of us! I always went nuts for Donnie, Joey was a close 2nd. When Joey was on Dancing with the Stars, I relived my whole NKOTB obsession all over again. Honestly, the rest of them did nothing for me! Danny looks a little scary to me still.
Wonder why Donnie looks so lonely as he celebrated his 39th Birthday at JET nightclub in The Mirage in Vegas. 39th birthday?? Holy crap he is the same age as me?? He still dresses and looks like he did 20 years ago?? Well I do too, so why am I shocked? :P

Didn't he rock that same style then.. baseball caps, same serious look? All that's missing is the mullet? Looks like he was joined by a few band mates, Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood. Wonder where the Knight brothers are?

Thought I would share my dinner for tonight!

I have a habit of getting emails with dinner ideas, and then running out to the grocery store and picking up the ingredients. That's exactly what happen today. Here is tonight's dinner. I am also adding steak for protein. Looks so good huh?

My father-in-law's garden (along with mine) is seriously out of control. He sends home baskets of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, cabbage, and that's let's not get started on the bags of herbs I get. This summer my menus are filled with fresh home (and semi-home) grown veggies. I am not complaining!! Thanks Ed

Day at the Spa

Yesterday my gf Dawn and I went to Spa Toccare, courtesy of our wonderful husbands. Spa Toccare is in the Borgata casino in Atlantic city. We started the day by going to the new Water Club hotel, adjacent to the Borgata. We had breakfast at The Sunroom and 2 mimosas later, we were off to our massages. The personnel at the Spa were really sweet and friendly. One gripe I would have is with the upscale vibe the Borgata gives off, why would they make their staff wear such ugly uniforms?? Ugh, beige and browns? And the style? So not flattering!

One we checked in, got naked and put on our robes, we were sent to a very relaxing "waiting" room. We were treated to fresh juices, fruit and cucumber slices for our eyes.

My masseuse (is that pc?) was Kasey from Pitman. Dawn and I both decided on Swedish massages and man was that a great choice. Using the warm lavender oil, Kasey worked every knot out of my body. Heaven!

Dawn and I met up back to the hot tub room, relaxed and giggled over the older women who went au naturale.. never ever, we both had on our bathing suits.

The day ended with shopping The Pier Shops at Caesar's and dinner at The Continental.

The day was perfect. I needed girly time with a wonderful friend!

That makes 8!

Well he did it!! Michael Phelps brought in the Gold again earning his 8th gold! Joined by his (hot) teammates Jason Lezak, Brendan Hansen, and Aaron Peirsol, the USA claimed gold in the 4x100 medley relay, setting a world record as they did it. Did anyone else choke up while watching them get the gold? It was really emotional for me, I cant imagine how they held all those emotions in!
Congratulations to Michael Phelps and the American Men's Swim team, and thank you for making it so very entertaining for all of us!!

Especially giving us pics like this!!

Time to paint~ Again?

Anyone that knows me, knows I love to paint. I had a friend once make the comment "if you stand still long enough, she will paint you too" (thanks Brett). What can I say, I love to paint! With a $25 can of paint, new curtains and a little rearranging, you can change the whole look of a room! Design on a budget!
So when I saw this office in the new Pottery Barn catalog, I just knew I had to paint my office again ~ to green!!
How convenient is it that I already have the desk? Its an omen!

J Crew's New Fall looks!

J Crew came out with their Fall 2008 "lookbook". I love it all, especially the all the bold sherbet colors. It would be worth a look if you are into colors for the Fall. Their upcoming Fall collection is filled with decadent styles ranging from bouclé mohair jackets to patent leather peep-toes (love the blue) in such fun colors.

My favorite is this graphic print dress. I love the orange heels with it, totally makes the outfit, don't you agree?

Now if someone would invite me to something that I can wear it too??

Anyone watch US Swimmer Michael Phelps break the record for most Olympic gold medals won by scoring his 10th and 11th medals last night? YEAH USA! I have been watching the Olympics almost every night, and I gotta say its very exciting! I even enjoyed the women's synchronized diving last night. China got the gold (of course), but hey Mexico won its 1st medal, taking home the Bronze! Way to go girls!

And me watching the Olympics has NOTHING to do with this pic:

wow!

I'm thinking.. no, what about you?

One thing I have never been called is a prude. Well I'm not a complete in-your-face kinda girl, but I am no where near shy either! I would consider myself pretty adventurous with doing different things to my hair also. I love to dye it on a whim. I've been black, blonde, all shades or red, but hair color for my ahem ~pubic hair? This is one thing I can honestly say I have never gotten bored with! Yes I did say actual hair dye for your hey nanny nanny, your vajayjay, your PRIVATES! And here I was thinking that certain things should stay well, yes, private. Like I said, I no am so not a prude, but am I the only one who thinks this is just ... odd? There is a new product that is getting all kinds of buzz. Betty Beauty makes color for the "hair down there." And the company claims to "boldly go where no color has gone before." What do you girls think? Is this total bachelorette gag gift material or would you actually try it? Call me old fashioned but my "crotch" color is for me to know and only my husband, Johnny Depp and after seeing The Dark knight, Christian Bale to find out.

ok the stencils I would do!

I want these shoes!

I just got an email from DSW telling me that these shoes are now at their store, actually waiting for me, asking when is she coming to buy me? Well ok not waiting or asking, but oh are they are mine!! How cute are these shoes? AND they are $39.95?? Question is black or brown??

Fall Trends 2008

Catching up on my Fall 2008 magazines, I've been seeing lots of the trends for the Fall 2008 season. And I gotta say I love it. It all seems to be so "ME"!

Smoky eyes and the dark red pout is going strong for Fall 2008. Seems like with that look, the hair trends are keeping with the classic looks of the '20s and '30s. Low side parts and soft waves. Very classy.

This season also looks like the gypsy/bohemian look is still going, but with a fresh new spin on it. I love that color is still going strong with the purples, blues and browns. Lots of browns out for Fall 2008. Again so ME! So if you have ever wanted to grow in your brows or try blue eyeshadow, this season it is in, so go for it!

Here are a few things that are "in" with makeup Fall 2008:

Bronze Eyeshadow: Bronze was hot for Summer 2008 and its continuing over in to the Fall.

Enhanced Eyebrows: The days of super-skinny eyebrows with a scary high arch are so over, so be prepared to thicken and darken those brows to catch the season's latest trend. This means I need to surf the net for ways to get mine to grow in quickly! Anyone heard that exfoliating them helps them to grow faster? NY spender mentioned this trick and I am curious that it actually works?

Burgundy Lips: This is the one trend I am most crazy about. Again, carrying forward the glamorous '30s look and combining it with a touch of goth. Dark lips are back! Be sure to choose hints of deep burgundy, black, purple and maroon when picking out a shade for the Fall. This is a great color for almost any skin type, and can be balanced with nude eyes and light blush. Please no heavy on the eyes AND a heavy lip.. Please pick one!

Blue Eyeshadow:: Ok this one I am a little afraid of. Some girls will hear blue eyeshadow is in, and will end up looking like Mimi from The Drew Cary show. I will be sure to experiment with this before I post my full opinion. I did post a pic of this look on Eve, and she can pull it off big time! We shall be about me.

Dark Gray Smokey eyes: Again anther trend I am loving.

Mascara that I love, so I thought I'd share

Apparently this mascara is getting a lot of hype now. I've been wearing it for a few months and I can see why it is getting the reviews it is. I love it. I love how it lengthens my lashes. There are no clumps and it's so easy to remove with my Sephora eyemakeup remover.
Coming from being a devoted DiorShow user, this drugstore mascara is right up there.
I picked it up for around $6.99 at Target, not bad compared to the $23 I pay for DiorShow.

Of course I love that it comes in an Orange tube! It so much fun to see a fat orange tube with a cool wand. It's so not the norm of the basic black tube mascaras out there. It makes the product stand out.
I highly recommend it.

Cleanse the Body with Honey and Cinnamon - From FitCeleb

Below is a recipe for a natural remedy to cleanse your body of toxins. This recipe will only be effective on an empty stomach, primarily at night. The cinnamon and honey will have a cleansing effect in the digestive tract, cleaning out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down your digestion and cause a toxic build up. While doing this cleanse, if the toxins being released cause any unpleasant side effects, cut back on how much you use or take a break. One of the pleasant side effects can be a feeling of more energy and joy.
Directions:
Boil 1 cup of water
Pour the water over 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Cover the mixture and let it steep for 30 minutes.
Then, while cool, add 2 teaspoons of raw honey.
Never add the honey when the mixture is hot because the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
Drink half of the mixture right before going to bed.
Cover and refrigerate the other half of the mixture.
In the morning drink the other half cold or at room temperature.
Do not add anything else to this recipe.

Wish list - Palmetto Wicker Egg Chair

OK, I’ve seen this gorgeous but crazy looking chair from Pottery Barn before. I really WANT it!

How cool is this? It offers everything... privacy, shade, durability, comfort, and a hint of funk! It’s definitely so cool to look at. Makes me think I'm a celebrity in my faux cabana with Pedro (Fab?) waiting on me! I can imagine it tucked away in a quiet corner of my garden, surrounded by peonies, hydrangeas and me with my USweekly and a glass of lemonade (or wine). Out there ALONE, relaxing! Think they can drop the price, oh say about another $1,000? lol

This pic reminds me of my daughter who turned 16 on 7.28!

Everyone have a happy weekend.. we are on Party overload.

I have been saying that I was going to make a blog for months, so I am finally taking the plunge!

Welcome to my blog ~ Orange it lovely

So welcome to my blog, I hope you enjoy it.
